Since the Youth Hunting Day events started in 2005, members of the respective planning committees and the individual stewardship councils have received local, regional and provincial recognition as follows:

Provincial recognition by the Ministry of Natural Resources
At the 2009 event, the Elgin Stewardship Council was presented with a framed certificate from the Honourable Donna Cansfield. The certificate recognized the importance of youth engagement in the outdoors and how the Youth Hunting Day was helping to support this involvement.

National Wild Turkey Federation Provincial Youth Mentor Award
Following their 2009 Youth Hunting Day event, the Elgin Stewardship Council was presented with the award for its engagement of youth in hunting

National Wild Turkey Federation Local Youth Mentor Award
The Elgin Stewardship Council received this award in 2008 for the leadership in developing the annual Youth Hunting Day in Elgin County.
 
Russell B. Piper Award
In 2008 and 2009, Kit Brown and Tony Jackson of the Elgin Stewardship Council and Perth Stewardship Networks received the Russell B. Piper Award for their leadership in developing and influencing local stewardship efforts. Both played important roles in the development of the Elgin and Perth Youth Hunting Day events in which their individual roles were highlighted as part of the nomination process.
